A Legacy Built One Job at a Time
Acme Plumbing Co. was founded in 1947 by W. Laurence Tilley, Sr., originally operating as S & T Plumbing out of the Tilley family home right here in the Durham area. Under the leadership of W.L. "Dub" Tilley, Jr. and his wife Shirley, the company grew steadily and eventually became Acme Plumbing and Heating Company. In 1964, the business expanded further through the acquisition of Paschall Brothers Plumbing, adding residential repair and replacement services and cementing a strong service division that would carry the company forward for decades.
As the plumbing industry evolved, so did we. Leadership passed to Larry and Lee Ann Tilley, and the company continued to build its reputation as a go-to plumbing contractor throughout Durham, Raleigh, and the greater Triangle. Through every chapter, the core principles stayed the same: do the job right, treat customers honestly, and stand behind your work without exception.
